HumiSeal 2C51 Gains UL Approval

For Immediate Release

HumiSeal continues to strengthen its silicone portfolio of products by gaining UL94 approval for the new 2C51 – a dual purpose silicone conformal coating and potting material.

Recently announced, HumiSeal 2C51 has been specifically designed to overcome various challenges for both coating and potting of circuit boards. The Underwriters Laboratories recognition has been tailored to both application types.

HumiSeal 2C51 has gained a UL94 V0 rating with a conformal coating thickness of 2-8 mils (50-200µm). Furthermore, 2C51 is also recognized as a potting material for 95-375 mils (2415-9600 µm) with an HB rating.

2C51 is a two-part silicone with a simple 1:1 mix ratio. Its Autocatalytic cure will complete within 60 minutes at room temperature or can be accelerated by applying a slightly elevated temperature.    This is an environmentally friendly coating which has zero VOCs and is 100% solids upon mixing.    The cured 2C51 is a transparent film with slight blue tint visible at the higher thickness levels.

New European Senior Sales & Technical Support Specialist

Humiseal continues to strengthen its sales and technical support in the European Market.

In doing so, we are pleased to announce that Vlad David has joined HumiSeal as our European Senior Sales & Technical Support Specialist. Vlad will be based in Winnersh UK and report to Chris Palin, EMEIA Manager Europe.

Vlad will be working with Monika Dybalska supporting sales in a technical role and developing application solutions for our customer base in the European Region.

Vlad previously worked as a Process Engineer at Plexus Oradea, Romania managing the Conformal Coating Centre of Excellence and developing conformal coating processes and specifications.

He has a Master of Science degree in Mechatronics, Robotics and Automation Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Engineering from the University of Oradea Romania.

With this new addition to the European support team, HumiSeal is positioning itself as a market leader in electronic protection by providing in-depth technical support and understanding of our clients’ needs.

HumiSeal Strengthens Product Portfolio with Introduction of 2C51 – A Dual Use Conformal Coating and Potting Material

HumiSeal® is pleased to announce the release of a new two-part silicone conformal coating and potting material.   2C51 is a versatile, fast curing, and high dielectric strength material that can be tailored to the users’ application methodology.  

The 2C51 provides superior protection as a conformal coating or if used to fully encapsulate the PCB.   A simple 1 to 1 mix ratio assures accurate blending of the two parts, while its two color part packaging allows for easy verification of complete mixture.   The 2C51 autocatalytic cure enables curing without applied heat, although it can be accelerated with a mild temperature increase.  Full cure can be achieved in 30 minutes at 70oC or 60 minutes at room temperature.

The cured 2C51 is a transparent film with slight blue tint visible at higher thickness levels.   Strong dielectric properties will provide unmatched circuit protection.   This new 100% solid material with zero grams per liter VOCs enables an environmentally friendly application.

Chase Corporation Acquires Resin Designs, LLC

Westwood, MA — October 3, 2016 – Chase Corporation (NYSE MKT: CCF) announced that it has acquired Resin Designs, LLC (“Resin Designs”), an advanced adhesives and sealants manufacturer, with locations in Woburn, MA and Newark, CA. In the most recently completed calendar year, Resin Designs had revenue in excess of $11,000,000, with results expected to be accretive to Chase Corporation’s earnings. The business was acquired for a purchase price of $30,435,000, pending any final working capital adjustment and excluding acquisition-related costs. As part of this transaction, Chase is acquiring all working capital and fixed assets of the business, as well as entering into multi-year leases at both locations. The purchase was funded entirely with available cash on hand

UV500, the latest generation of UV cure conformal coatings, has been specifically designed for high reliability applications, such as those found in the automotive industry. The stringent requirements of the automotive industry make it an ideal application to harness the strengths of UV500.  UV500 is available globally from HumiSeal or through our authorized channel partners.

UV500, a single component UV curable conformal coating, is an acrylated elastomer designed to assure the highest levels of electrical protection for today’s automotive electronics. HumiSeal®, a leading manufacturer and distributor of conformal coatings has announced that it will use the Productronica 2013 event in Munich, 12th to 15th November 2013, as a platform for the Global launch of its NEW UV50 and UV500 products. The company has made significant developments of its now well-established UV40 range and these new products mark a significant milestone in the ability of coatings to meet the exacting standards especially in the automotive industry. Visitors to the HumiSeal stand (A4 241/2) will be able to hear first hand just how far UV curing conformal coatings have come as HumiSeal again sets the benchmark.

 So What’s New?

The new products build on the success of its highly successful and popular UV40 conformal coating, Following extensive R&D both the UV50 and UV500 products have been developed to significantly increase performance and meet or exceed the stringent test requirements that are found in the electronics industry today, specifically in the automotive sector where test environments can be particularly harsh.

UV50

Compatible with high-speed airless application systems, UV50 helps to increase throughput and accuracy whilst reducing cycle times. The new product also displays improved thermal shock performance making it more resilient to extreme operating conditions. At the same time UV50 displays greatly improved compatibility with applications produced in a no-clean processes or where low surface energy substrates are an issue.

UV500

The NEW UV500 product takes product performance even further displaying excellent performance criteria enhancements over the legacy products. The ability to continually operate at higher temperatures combined with its improved thermal shock performance results in a very stable and reliable product. The high flexibility and low modulus attributes of the UV500 product delivers performance characteristics typically associated with silicone based products. Finally the product also demonstrated excellent protection against long-term exposure to high moisture environments. UV500 can also be easily removed for rework and repair of coated units.
