HumiSeal to bring its NEW key product ranges to Productronica 2017

For Immediate Release

The Productronica exhibition in Munich, Germany will provide visitors to the HumiSeal stand (A4.246) a great opportunity to talk about all the latest product innovations from the company. Throughout the show, the electronics protection materials manufacturer will be showcasing the enhanced range of HumiSeal protection materials.  The show which runs from 14th to the 17th November 2017, welcomes visitors from around the world. Visitors to the HumiSeal stand will have the opportunity to learn more about the new range of enabling materials that include Potting, Thermal Management, Gasketing, Display Liquid Optically Clear Adhesives (LOCA) and bonding materials. These latest additions to the product portfolio further cements the company’s position as they continue to set the benchmark in materials design. In addition to the new range of materials HumiSeal will also be launching new innovations in conformal coatings including LED cure coatings, LED cure temporary masking and high temperature synthetic rubber products.

HumiSeal will utilise the show to promote this completely new portfolio of materials that extends the company’s comprehensive range of conformal coatings to include a suite of protection materials:

Conformal Coatings

HumiSeal will launch its new conformal coating innovations meeting the increasing demands of our customers including, low energy LED cure coatings, higher temperature synthetic rubber materials to meet the demands of the automotive industry and a range of masking materials including solvent resistant tapes & dots and rapid cure liquid temporary masking materials.

Display Adhesives

The UV curable liquid optical clear bonding adhesives (LOCA) are specifically formulated for applications where a durable, crystal-clear, invisible bond is required. The fast, on-demand cure allows substrates to be repositioned precisely until parts are ready to be processed. Display adhesives are ideal for applications such as touch panel assembly including bonding flat panel displays, touch screens, LCD screens, tablets, indoor/outdoor kiosks, navigation systems, mobile phones and smart connected devices.

Thermal Management

The demands of today’s electronic devices require a range of high performance materials for the reliable and effective control of heat. Reduced real-estate and smaller components increase the need to dissipate damaging heat efficiently. HumiSeal’s range of thermal management materials provides a wide range of solutions to an ever-increasing problem.

Other material solutions in the product line include materials for bonding, masking, damming & potting, gasketing, sealants, RF shielding and, of course, award-winning conformal coatings.

Commenting on the upcoming exhibition Chris Palin, EMEIA Manager for HumiSeal, said:

“Exhibitions are a fantastic opportunity to meet so many people in our industry –  listening to new ideas and applications as well as potential problems they may be experiencing and working with them to provide innovative solutions.

We hope that this year’s event very much follows this theme where we can meet both new potential customers and existing customers with new challenges for us to resolve. The HumiSeal team is excited to have this opportunity to talk about our new product developments for this exciting market.”

HumiSeal 2C51 Gains UL Approval

For Immediate Release

HumiSeal continues to strengthen its silicone portfolio of products by gaining UL94 approval for the new 2C51 – a dual purpose silicone conformal coating and potting material.

Recently announced, HumiSeal 2C51 has been specifically designed to overcome various challenges for both coating and potting of circuit boards. The Underwriters Laboratories recognition has been tailored to both application types.

HumiSeal 2C51 has gained a UL94 V0 rating with a conformal coating thickness of 2-8 mils (50-200µm). Furthermore, 2C51 is also recognized as a potting material for 95-375 mils (2415-9600 µm) with an HB rating.

2C51 is a two-part silicone with a simple 1:1 mix ratio. Its Autocatalytic cure will complete within 60 minutes at room temperature or can be accelerated by applying a slightly elevated temperature.    This is an environmentally friendly coating which has zero VOCs and is 100% solids upon mixing.    The cured 2C51 is a transparent film with slight blue tint visible at the higher thickness levels.

Keith Waryold (Vice President of Industrial Materials and Technology) said “Our UL recognized portfolio of products continues to be industry’s strongest and the most comprehensive. HumiSeal’s 2C51 will join many other products already under the UL recognition umbrella. We continue to invest in new product development and we stay committed to further our stronghold as the technology leader in electronic protection materials.”

HumiSeal Introduces UV92 a UV-Curable Thixotropic Masking Gel

For Immediate Release

HumiSeal® is proud to introduce the new UV92 – a one part, thixotropic, UV curable masking gel for temporary protection of components during the coating process.   UV92 is user-friendly during application, curing, and removal process.   This product comes in various cartridge sizes and bulk packaging directly from HumiSeal and authorized channel partners.

Application of HumiSeal UV92 is simple due to its high shear thinning property, which allows the gel to reduce viscosity during dispensing. UV92 ease of dispensing and accuracy of placement by properly wetting the surface makes it ideal for protection of critical components. The material will return to its gel state when not sheared. The UV92 masking gel cures with industry standard UV LED lighting at 365nm or 405nm, and has excellent solvent resistance once cured.

In its cured state, the UV92 will have a cloudy white appearance for easy identification without the need of black light and is easily distinguishable from conformal coating. The UV92 can withstand short temperature excursions up to 150oC for various conformal coating cure methods.

Removal of UV92 is simple, as it will peel cleanly with minimal exertion and no residues. UV92 will not stain metallic surface finishes such as gold, copper, silver, tin.

Features Benefits
High solids / 0 VOC Environmental health and safety advantage
Milky white appearance Easily distinguished without the use of UV black light during application and after cure
Ease of application Easily applied by robotic, table top, or hand-held dispenser
Thixotropic with high shear thinning Conforms to the desired shape on PCB and extremely easy to apply especially in tight spaces
Fast UV Cure Reduced WIP via a short process cycle time
Will not interact with conformal coatings Will not peel freshly applied conformal coating from the surface of PCB
Able to withstand 150oC for short period of time Capable of various conformal coating curing methods
Easily peel-able Fast process after conformal coating application to remove mask
No Residue Leaves clean surface after removal
No tarnish on metal finished No oxidation or discoloration of metallic surface such as Sn, Ag, Au, Cu

Keith Waryold (Vice President of Industrial Materials and Technology) said “Focusing on our customer requests, we continuously provide new solutions to the market. UV92 is another example of an environmentally friendly material that has been long requested by our customers. It is an exciting addition to further complement our conformal coatings product portfolio. The technology team at HumiSeal continues to make large strides in product development and we expect to be introducing more offerings in the near future.”
